I won a contest? Nah.

So the other day I was hanging out on Twitter & my friend Ruby was tweeting about a party for Verizon. I usually don't get into twitter parties only because I worked night shift & was busy. Since I don't work anymore (another story) I decided why not? Verizon was introducing their new Spanish side of Verizon. Verizon is working with the Latino community by donating scholarships, Spanish language programming, putting their Twitter & Facebook in Spanish, & their own website in Spanish. "We are Verizon- Somos Fios." I began working my chubby little fingers on my phone keeping up with the tweets (which go way to fast in parties btw). I switched to my laptop because it's hard to keep up with twitter parties on a smart phone (which isn't so smart). Verizon tweeted about the prizes that they where to give away:

* Dr. Dre Solo Headphones (retail $192)

Of course I had my little heart set on the iPad 2. My iPhone 4 is serviced by Verizon & (I am a Mac all the way) I love my services with Verizon. When I found out I was heading to Blogalicious I was going to buy my iPad 2 so I could take notes on it of course ;) but the money I was relying on to purchase it fell through & then I ended up losing my job! So I went to Blogalicious without my iPad 2. I was envious of all the iPads getting pulled out of cute purses & lovely bags. They came in such cute covers. I recall one of the ladies I met actually lost her iPad 2 & someone put it in the lost & found! Chivalry is not dead!

While in the twitter party we answered questions about the music we listened to & currently love. I love that topic because I have music flowing through my veins. The twitter party was hosted by LatinaMomBloggers. Lovely ladies BTW. The question that won me my iPad 2 was:

"Q4: What channel is ESPN Deportes located on in the FiOS channel lineup?"

My response: 1520 ESPN

And a few minutes pass by as we answer questions & talk to one another. It was very high pressure. @JollyMom was picking the winners & said it was a high pressure job lol. & then it happened. My mentions blew up & I was getting texts & emails! I won I WON! My prize? My sweet new baby, iPad 2!

This week has been freezing in Northern Virginia. My poor cats are hiding under every piece of clothing they can find. They both slept with us last night, thats unusual. I even heard it snowed in NYC today. BRRRRRR. I came back from there this morning & I didn't think it was cold enough to snow but hey who am I to judge! Speaking of NYC that brings me to my loves & loathes for this month.

LOVES:

*cuddling up with a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate (peppermint of course)

*Big sweaters & UGGS

*Halloween movies

*Paranormal Activity (all 3)

*Uncrowded movie theaters

*Latinas getting together for a cause

*All the good smells in NYC

*NYC skyline (I could look at it all day)

*Latism's billboard in Time Square

Loathes:

*People who think they are rubbermaid & walk in front of your car in NYC

*Taxi drivers in NYC (you are no fun)

*Hailing a taxi in NYC (not friendly)

*Rushing to get somewhere (why the rush people)

*All the bad smells in NYC

*Traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel

*New Jersey turn pike!

My SWAG from Blogalicious 11'

Amongst making awesome friends at Blogalicious 11', I got some pretty awesome stuff from the expo. I also got items from the events they had going on at the conference. They not only gave you stuff but they informed us of neat organizations going on. Some of these programs are helping the community that are less fortunate. To name a few Aunt Jemima, Gain, Covergirl, Johnson & Johnson, & McDonald's. The events where well planned & they had some pretty neat stuff they gave us. Covergirl gave us makeove

rs, while Kmart & Sears gave the women massages & I won a fondue maker ;). Hanes was also there, they handed out tanks, underwear, & bras to kick off Blogalicious.

Gain supplied us with samples of their new scent booster Firework (I did 3 loads of laundry when I got home lol) and a few dryer bars. McDonald's put coupons in that neat fry bag you see there & at their party they gave us masks with McD's necklaces, USB memory stick, & they had a PHOTOBOOTH! Yes! Aunt Jemima sent us with an awesome late breakfast for dinner mmmmm, an apron, recipe book, and pictures with Aaron "Big Daddy", Whirl pool filter water bottle (I am obsessed). Johnson & Johnson gave us sample size lotion, tooth brushes, chap stick and band aids. I got a few samples of nokernal popcorn (delicious) & Opensky's snacks.

Que Rica Vida gave us aprons & let us do an interview with them about Halloween. When we get the video I will post it here or link it. The rest of Aunt Jemima stuff. USB memory stick & grocery list.

Susan G. Komen had reps their that supplied us with face masks, bracelets, pedicures, manicures, & a lot of snacks. :) The rest of the Johnson & Johnson supplies with the pink bag. Ubisoft let us in on the new Xbox Kinect game "Just dance 3" We had a blast! There are a few pictures out there floating around of me :/ eek. I got a sweet 80's head band with sunglasses & a awesome disco ball! To bad no dancing shoes! Our dance team was named " Virgin Wives" lol

& last but not least.....My OpenSky Tee I am in love with! It's so comfy. When we visited the OpenSky booth I had no clue what or who it was? Caitlin introduced us to the company & explained what they where about. I loved the shirt because it was fitting & the ladies I was with where all different sized & it fit us well. The scarfs are to die! P.s. their snacks are yummy too!

Blogalicious11 weekend part 2.

Covergirl was at Blogalicious11 and gave us make overs. How thoughtful of them. How did they know that I need a make over? LOL I feel asleep while getting mine (well after talking Kim's face off) Kim Gray did my make up and was amazing!

My new weekly postings will be my loves for the week and my loathes. Along with my pinterest finds! First and foremost I hope everyone had a wonderful week. I on the other hand did not. This week has been one of the most painful and difficult weeks of my life. It started out good with a trip to Michigan to visit the family. I went knowing my Aunt who was like a mother to me would pass soon. She was diagnosed with COPD back in December of 2010. She was a wonderful women. She passed away on Wednesday September 28th 2011. A day after we arrived back home in Virginia.
