Where I came from?

WHERE I CAME FROM?
WOW I think I have been asked everything under the sun, even this question. But I have never really gave it any thought. I never thought about where I really came from. I could tell you I came from Michigan and ended up in Virginia but is Michigan where I really came from? I lived there, my family is there, my love is there, and my culture is not there. My culture is from Mexico. I don't think I could qualify Mexico as where I came from. Mexico is where my grandmother is from and Texas is where my father, aunts, and uncles are from.

Where I came from? I came from Michigan. That is where I physically came from. It is where I go to be free from fear. It is where I go to feel loved.

Where I came from? I came from two beautiful people who would give their life for me. They would give me their last shirt off their back. The last money in their pocket.

Where I came from? I came from education. I worked hard through high school to prove to people I was not the stereotypical Spanish person.

Where I came from doesn't defy where I am going!

HOW BLOGGING STARTED AND WHY?
I started blogging back when I became a military spouse but I didn't have enough to blog about. I was not the typical military wife. I wasn't involved with parties, events, etc; you might say to yourself why? Don't you love your husband? Weren't you proud of his services? Yes and Yes! My husband's job didn't defy who I was! I didn't want to be connected to his rank or rate. I am very proud my husband serves for our country!

I got into photography back when I was 15. Fast forward to 2008 my wonderful husband bought me the greatest gift that money could buy. A camera, Nikon at that! I started my photography blog this year. I did so because I wanted to share my shoots with you all. I wanted you to feel what I feel the moment I click. I wanted to show you what I see. I see beauty everywhere and in everything! My friend over at Growingupblackxican influenced me to blog about my photography journey.

I have been influenced by many blogs and many photographers. I try to blog about every shoot I do to keep my followers interested in my work. I want them to know what happened between the shots. How we got the client dressed, to what was said during the shoot to make them laugh.

WHAT BLOGALICIOUS WILL DO FOR MY BLOG?

Since my blog just started I don't have many followers. I believe a lot of people think they have to have a blog to comment my blog. I have made it clear that they don't. I believe blogalicious will help me step out of my comfort zone and make friends from places I have never been. Blogalicious will bring traffic to my blog and bring me together with other bloggers. I love meeting new people and Latina people at that!

Thank you BeBlogalicious and Latinabloggerconnect for giving us this opportunity.

Don't fret bloggy friends

I have not left for good. We had a lovely Hurricane pass our way but not before a lovely little Quake who decided to terrorize us with its presence. As some of you may know I live in Virginia & we had a 5.9 earthquake on Tuesday August 23. It was not fun & I am frankly a little traumatized from it. Then this weekend we had to endure the pain from Irene. Nothing to bad some really wet grass & our siding of our apartment fell off.

So a week ago I had the pleasure of interviewing a friend near & dear to my heart Francis "Stack" Evans. He is an artist who raps. He is a local artist & I wanted to let his fans know where he came from & why he does what he does. Now it is not in my normal to do this kinda thing. I actually approached him & I think I made him nervous lol. He didn't really, nor did I, what I wanted out of this. I have the interview recorded on my lovely IPhone & will be blogging it tomorrow. I have been busy (excuse) with all
this crazy weather, school, work, blah blah blah. Ya know the works!

With the interview I shot some photos to go along with it. I also contacted a local artist back home from Michigan as well. his name is Ray P. I will do his photos once I arrive home back in Michigan. He has the series of questions & will email them back to me.

I had the pleasure to photograph & interview a awesome Nurse from my job. Maisha & her son Brady was so awesome! I thank them for hiring me to be their photographer for the day at the park. Brady was not having it. He was not happy with the bubbles, magnet board, or heat! He was in fact happy with the park! Oh, & batman. Maisha is a single mother by choice. She has been through 2 divorces & chose to go to
a sperm bank for a baby. I will get into that in her interview in a few weeks!

Stay happy & healthy (oh health mine is very bad! I need a gym in my life)

XoXo

New Project.

I have been a little MIA mainly because its hard for me to get motivated these days. With working full time its hard to find time to blog, shoot, school, and even think sometimes(insert a million excuses here). This summer has been super busy. I am not complaining though. Tomorrow my sister & little brother fly in from Michigan to spend a few days with me & the hubby. I am so ecstatic. I have 6 days off 2 unplanned but nonetheless.

On to the new project I want to start working on.....so I have been very active on twitter lately(@jendalynne) & have been doing twitter parties....well it got me thinking about my blogging & what I want out of it & my photography as well. I have a friend who happens to be an artist in Michigan. He was letting inquiring minds know if they would like to interview him to contact him & I jumped at the opportunity. Why? Because I can work on my photography & writing. I plan on asking him a series of questions & photographing him in his surroundings. I like the natural stuff. I got to thinking this probably would be called photojournalism but than again what do I know. I have a few other stories I want to document & shoot. I figure if I can add a picture to the interview that would be amazing. Plus I am way better at photography than writing. That's another thing, writing, I need to work on that. I may need to take another course in college on writing.

This leads me to what do I want? hmmmm I am 23 & still have no clue what I want out of life as far as a career. Is that bad? Oh gosh!! I know I tossed around being solely a photographer but what is the fun in that when there are so many stories to be told behind the pictures. I figure the 2 go hand in hand.

I have to give a s/o to my husband on sticking with me through my change of minds. lol

As far as Nursing its going>.<
