True Love | Vox Box Influenster

I heard about Influenster on youtube.com. I can't remember the guru's name off top but I remember Influenster. What the company does is round up all social media influencers to share their lifestyles with other influencers. When you sign up you get badges for social media sites you participate on. A few of them are blogger, youtube, twitter, etc; When you receive badges you have an opportunity to receive a Vox Box. Sound mysterious? It is!!! It's also exciting!

I missed the holiday Vox Box so I signed up to get the Love Box. Influenster will send you an email when the boxes are ready & they will ship about 2 weeks later. I got mine about 2 weeks after. Fast shipping for the east coast for sure. Yesterday my lovely mysterious box came. They don't tell you what's in the boxes before they ship them.

Let's talk about the juicy deets. So basically I love all of the stuff they sent. It was like they knew me! I already us Venus so the blades & extra razors were a plus! The sweetener I have been wanting to try out. I have plenty of fruits to put it on & in my tea. The tea, ahhhhh, I love tea I have been drinking a lot of tea lately. It is calorie free & gives you energy. Ghirardelli chocolate is my favorite. It is by far the best chocolate I have tasted it. The Kiss nail art I am excited to try it. I have never bought it because it is over priced for stickers. I believe. 

All in all I am happy I participated in this & will in the future. They do vox boxes every holiday I believe or quarter. I am not sure but go on over to their site & sign up. :)

Look back on our Christmas 2011 | Family

Me & hubby drove up to spend our Christmas with my family this year. I always love the 10 hour drive we have to make to get here :( just kidding! We have a tradition where we all (My mother's brother's, sister's, kids, & grand kids) go to my Aunt's house for a Christmas party.  My mother is 1 of 9 kids so there is a good amount of people there. We all bring a dish to pass & usually exchange gifts or ornaments. This year we chose ornaments to exchange. That was fun & hilarious. Also all the women & girls were given a pair of Christmas socks to wear if we didn't already have them on. I made Santa hats that I found on Pinterest. Hubby made pig in the blankets. My parents brought ham onion roll ups with cream cheese, a family favorite.

How we ended our Christmas night! :)

Christmas Eve me & hubby spent it with my father & step mother. We open our gifts & eat dinner. We talk, laugh, joke, argue, & just plain have fun. All my brother's & sister's go over there & just spend time together.This year I didn't grab any photos because I wanted to relax & help clean. My brother Aaron spent his first Christmas with us EVER! I was so happy he came. He is adopted out to an amazing family & usually is with them. This year he came to have dinner & just hang out.

Flan & Family | Thanksgiving & Giveaway.**Closed**

Is there a special tradition your family has during the holiday seasons? That one dish you can’t live without at Thanksgiving? I am not talking about the obvious turkey, potatoes, yams, & pies. Our family always has a potato casserole that we never go without. This year Nestle LaLechera asked me to participate in a campaign with them & bring a new tradition to our holiday season. Coming from a Mexican family you would think I've had the dish Flan before. In fact I have never even tasted Flan or even watched someone prepare it. I decided to give it a shot since I am trying to cook & bake more. My family was excited to be able to participate in making this dish with me since we drove up to Michigan for the holidays. We ended up making it a Sunday night family night. My little brother, step father, mother, husband, & me all took part in making Vanilla Flan. I let my husband pick which flavor of Flan he wanted to make & he chose Vanilla. That happened to be the kind of Flan my older brother makes & loves. 

The 5 recipe cards included Vanilla Flan, Pumpkin Flan, Coconut Flan, Dulce de Leche Flan, & a card with introducing Nestle La Lechera. The cards tell you what you'll need & step by step of how to make your Flan. 

Kodak Camera (which is digital btw) & Flan molds. One of the molds broke so my mother happened to have 2 so I replaced them. In the end I used the pie pan because I had more people to feed. You may use the molds so your guest & family may have their own serving.

Nestle La Lechera sent me a gift basket which contained flan molds, Nestle La Lechera, evaporated milk, Kodak camera to photograph us making the Flan, a gift card to buy the rest of the ingredients to make the Flan, & 5 recipe cards. Since I own my own camera I decided to let the husband take photos with the Kodak disposable camera & I took the photos with my camera. I am kind of nervous to see his photos haha. 

I documented below each of the steps & since I have never made it before I just said word for word what I did. 
The husband stirred & kept an eye out on the sugar so it wouldn't burn. I also didn't know sugar could be made into liquid (I apparently didn't pay attention much in science class) 

My little brother wanted to work his new blender so he blended the ingredients all together & made a huge mess haha.

I just set the timer on my phone as we sat around the table & talked. 

So I read somewhere that if you have craters in your Flan is because the Flan came to a boil but they certainly don't take away from the taste. :)

Flan does have to sit in the fridge over night or for 4 hours but it is so worth the wait. I had it for breakfast before we headed on the road back to Virginia. 

My mother was telling me my grandmother used to make this dish all the time & she never knew what it was at the time. Nor did she learn how so it was nice to experience this with my mother. My husband has had Flan before & enjoyed it. He is the baker & cooker in our marriage & was excited that I was doing it for once haha. I think I did a pretty good job!

It's the holiday's already???? Hold the phone.

Holy Hannah Montana where did the time go? I seriously can't believe that it is November 7th already! It got cold quick & dark quicker! How cold is it from where your at? Virginia has it's days sometimes it is cold & other day's it is warmer! Mother nature can't make up her mind at all! I had a family Christmas/Fall shoot this weekend & they brought Santa hats! Yes, I can't believe it. Walmart is shoving Thanksgiving down our throats like nobodies business. I walk in & a turkey practically greets me at the door. LOL. I am so not ready for this year to end. It had it's ups & downs. I will tell you this though 2011 has been a good year thus far. I have met some amazing people & had some good times.

The other day I was driving down by the river here & the colors where amazing! So many colors it was unreal. I went to look for spots to shoot at with families, couples, babies, etc; I love this time of year for shoots. The air smells amazing, the trees look wonderful.
